NVision Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of geospatial solutions to federal government and commercial organizations, announced a Mentor-Protege agreement with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) under the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) Mentor-Protégé program. This relationship represents the first NGA Mentor-Protégé agreement in Mississippi.
NGA created the Mentor-Protégé program to motivate and encourage firms to assist small, HUBZone, and small disadvantaged businesses including Section 8(a) businesses like NVision Solutions. NGA also designed the program to improve their performance on NGA contracts and subcontracts, foster the establishment of long-term business relationships between these entities and NGA prime contractors, and increase the overall number of these entities that receive NGA contracts and subcontract awards.
During the three-year agreement, CSC will provide developmental assistance and mentoring to NVision Solutions in areas such as corporate management, infrastructure and performance management, technical training and professional development, and business practices and proposal response resources.
"The Mentor-Protégé program can help prepare and strengthen small businesses’ ability to work," said Chireda Gaither, Manager of Supplier Diversity. "Through the support of companies such as CSC, these companies can grow more quickly and adapt to the marketplace."
Founded in 2002, NVision Solutions is a minority, woman-owned business certified by the Small Business Administration as a small, disadvantaged business and Section 8(a) company. Based in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, with offices at the NASA Stennis Space Center, NVision provides geospatial technology products and services to the public and private sector. NVision’s current customers include NGA, FEMA, NASA, the U.S. Navy, and other government agencies as well as the private sector.
As part of the Mentor-Protégé agreement, CSC, who also has a presence at NASA Stennis Space Center, will actively seek to identify other subcontracting opportunities on existing and future contracts.
"NVision is excited about the opportunity this agreement presents to our company, CSC, NGA, and our customers," said Socorro Harvey, President of NVision. "The Mentor-Protégé program will enhance our ability to offer stronger support to our clients, as well as provide CSC our expertise in Geographic Information Systems. Selection for the Mentor-Protégé program is highly competitive and we are elated that CSC has once again demonstrated their commitment to the Gulf Coast through this relationship."
